Many thanks to Dr Dent and Practice Manager Paula at Aylesbury's Poplar Grove surgery for updating me on the current picture for local GPs and their teams.
I'm extremely concerned about Thames Water's plan for a booster station right next to cottages in Buckland. Unsurprisingly, hundreds of residents oppose it.
A very useful meeting with Cllr Rachael Matthews Deputy Cabinet Member for Regeneration at Buckinghamshire Council, to discuss progress on plans to improve our town centre. Aylesbury has amazing potential and I'm working hard to make it an even better place to live, work, visit and invest.
I was delighted to be invited to speak at the launch of the Bucks Skills and Employment Strategy this afternoon. Bringing together Buckinghamshire Council, employers, colleges and Department for Work and Pensions, its action plan includes skills bootcamps, job fairs and a focus on apprenticeships.
It was good to visit Framework Digital a creative agency designing websites for local charities and businesses. Based at the Bucks Digital Hub in Aylesbury, it was recently a finalist at the Bucks Business Awards.
There was a brilliant turnout for the first day of the multi sports camp at Broughton Junior School - part of the government-funded Holiday Activities & Food programme which provides free activities and lunch for children who receive benefits-related free school meals.
I was delighted to meet the winner of my Christmas card competition, Kaynan, at Booker Park School this afternoon. Kaynan's lovely card has been presented to the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Speaker of the House of Commons Lindsay Hoyle MP.
It was great to visit Stoke Mandeville Hospital this morning to meet two award-winning teams. Doctors, nurses and researchers in pain management have developed a new way to help patients with rib fractures, with a mobile unit that goes to individual wards.
