Many thanks to members of Aylesbury’s Gujarati community for welcoming me to their Diwali celebration at the weekend. I was delighted to take part in the Diya lighting ceremony and to present children with prizes for the best Diwali cards. The event brought together residents who have lived in Aylesbury for more than half a century with others who have moved here in just the last couple of months. It was a great evening, with delicious food, energetic dancing and a lovely atmosphere. Congratulations to the organisers who put it all together in a very short space of time.
