It was great to start off riders in the WheelPower Tour de Vale charity bike ride this morning from Stoke Mandeville Stadium.
The Tour de Vale has been raising money for disabled children and newly injured adults for 17 years. £56,000 was raised during the 2019 event and it is a very welcome sign of normality returning that this fantastic fundraising effort is underway once again.
It was good to see so many families taking part together, including some very young cyclists.
I was impressed by the grit and determination of riders, despite the rain. My thanks to them, the sponsors and volunteers along the route, including from Royal Air Force Halton.
Students from Buckinghamshire New University sports therapy department are on standby to provide massages for sore muscles at the end of the rides!
