On Friday, Rob Butler MP for Aylesbury visited the e-scooter scheme currently being trialled in the town centre.
Rob said: “I thoroughly enjoyed trying out Aylesbury's new e-scooters from Zipp Mobility. I was impressed by their focus on safety, including airless tyres and geo-fencing technology. I was also encouraged to hear how keen they are to get local feedback and make sure that the scooter service adapts to the needs of local residents.
“It's really important to bring environmentally-friendly and accessible transport to the town and I'm pleased that Buckinghamshire Council is taking part in these trials.
The e-scooter rental scheme, launched only last week, will be initially run for the year-long trial period. Riders must be over 16 and hold provisional or full driving licences. Users can then rent the scooters from their dedicated parking zones, using the Zipp Mobility smartphone app.
Back in Parliament, Rob will be discussing micromobility with Transport Minister Rachel Maclean MP very soon.
