I thoroughly enjoyed visiting Aylesbury Waterside Theatre this afternoon. It was very encouraging to hear of the success of the theatre since reopening on Sunday: a real sign that Aylesbury is returning to normal after the difficulties of the pandemic.
It was also good to talk with Resident Artist Peter Keegan about using paint to capture the atmosphere of the theatre both on stage and behind the scenes. There is a poignant contrast between the pieces painted before lockdown reflecting the buzz of performance and the more sombre atmosphere of the theatre during lockdown. Definitely worth a look!
