The Horse Trust reopens to pre-booked visitors tomorrow, so I was delighted to have the opportunity to call in this morning and speak with the Chief Executive, grooms, farriers and vets.
The oldest equine charity in the world, The Horse Trust provides a retirement home for working horses after they have served in the police, British Army and the Royal Mews. It was great to meet some of them today including the grey, Boris - known as the bravest horse in the Metropolitan Police Service.
The charity is also the second-largest funder of equine veterinary research in the country.
Based in Speen, The Horse Trust provides an amazing service and I look forward to supporting its work both locally and in Westminster.
