Despite much Government progress to tackle plastic pollution, including a ban on micro beads, restricting the supply of plastics straws and single-use carrier bags in supermarkets, too much plastic waste still ends up in landfill or our oceans. So I was delighted to meet schoolchildren from year 4 taking part in The Big Plastic Count project who came to the House of Commons to explain what more we can do to cut plastic waste. It’s excellent to see such young children interested in finding practical ways to protect the environment.
