This afternoon I hosted a roundtable with doctors and staff from GP practices across Aylesbury. With so many constituents facing long waits to get appointments, we had a detailed discussion about ways to improve services for patients. It was absolutely clear that every surgery is making a huge effort to ensure patients get the care they need, from the clinicians who are best equipped to provide the right treatment.
Earlier this week, the Government launched its Primary Care Recovery Plan. This will provide doctors' surgeries with new technology to handle patient calls and make it easier to get treatment at a pharmacy for some common conditions.
This is a very positive step, but lots of other good ideas were suggested at the meeting today, which I'll be sharing with ministers.
