It was great to meet local lorry driver Scott McEvoy this afternoon. He's starting the 1- year countdown to a 1000 mile bike ride covering the entire length of the UK, from John o'Groats to Land's End - and he plans to do it in just ten days.
Scott and his friend Adam Biggs will be raising money for the charity Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) which provides accommodation for parents to stay close to their child in hospital.
8 years ago, Scott served a short prison sentence; since his release he's been determined to help his community. He won an award for his work for local people during Covid, and has raised funds for numerous charities by taking on impressive feats such as the Three Peaks Challenge and even cycling from London to Paris.
