This is Armed Forces Week, when we recognise and applaud the duty of military personnel across all services. I was proud to participate in the flag-raising in Aylesbury’s Market Square today, alongside veterans from the Royal Navy, leaders of the local Army cadet force and serving personnel from RAF Halton, as well as civic dignitaries including the Chairman of Buckinghamshire Council and Aylesbury's mayor. These events are an important symbol of the debt we owe to those who devote their lives to protecting our nation, a moment to say thank you for the commitment the Armed Forces make all year round. Just as important are the families who support them, and I’d like to express particular gratitude to the families of those serving at the two RAF stations in my constituency, RAF Halton and RAF High Wycombe.
