This week I am on the Bill Committee for the Finance Bill, where we undertake detailed scrutiny of some of the budget measures. Today, this has included discussions on taxes on vaping, the deposit return scheme, and fiscal policies that will help protect the environment.
The committee stage is an important part of the process of Government proposals becoming law. Next, the Bill will go back to the full HOC for another debate before eventually receiving royal assent.
