I had a great start to the day with a visit to Royal Mail's Aylesbury Delivery Office to meet our local postmen and women, and see the new electric post vans. The 37 vehicle fleet at Aylesbury is now all-electric – a significant commitment to reducing emissions and helping the journey to net zero.
The new vehicles are also bigger than the old diesel vans, reflecting the changing size of the mailbag with a shift from letters to parcels – especially during the pandemic. It was good to hear such positive feedback about the move to EVs and how well staff have adapted to them, and I enjoyed test-driving one myself!
