It was good to meet the new President of Aylesbury Mosque, Mas'ud Ahmed Khan, this morning. I heard about his plans for the future, including more teaching facilities, especially for women and girls, and ambitions to build even stronger links with the wider community.
I was pleased to be able to congratulate him in person following the mosque's tremendous fundraising for victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
We discussed a wide range of local, national and international topics, ranging from car parking and regenerating the town centre, to Kashmir and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. It was a very useful and productive meeting.
