I had a fascinating visit to De Soutter Medical in Aston Clinton. They develop, produce & sell more than 800 surgical tools, especially for orthopaedics. Already highly successful & exporting worldwide, it's great to see how they're now expanding locally, creating many more highly skilled jobs.
This is exactly the kind of innovative & dynamic business we need in the UK, so it's vital we create the right regulatory and planning framework for firms like this to flourish. My visit to coincided with National Manufacturing Day - highlighting the important role manufacturing still plays in our economy. Good to see this recognised by the public in a report by Sheffield Hallam University, where 93% say manufacturing is critical to UK growth. Thanks to Buckinghamshire Business First as well.
