Young people with special educational needs and disabilities can find it challenging to gain good quality work experience. Today, I visited MacIntyre charity in the Life Skills Centre at Aylesbury College to hear about the excellent efforts made by work coaches to get young adults into supported placements with local employers. We need to ensure everyone has access to opportunities that can lead to meaningful employment for everyone in our community. The charity is keen to find more local businesses and organisations that can offer work experience, and I’ll be discussing what more the government can do to help with ministers.
