Aylesbury MP, Rob Butler, has visited several local hospitality businesses across the Aylesbury constituency today see how they are preparing to reopen.
The wider opening of the hospitality sector, including pubs, restaurants and hairdressers, is a welcome move from the government that will allow many more local people to return to work.
Rob visited businesses in Aylesbury town centre, as well as some much-loved village pubs in Stoke Mandeville, Weston Turville and Lacey Green.
Speaking afterwards, Rob said:
“Having been to many hospitality businesses today across my constituency, including several that are small and locally-owned, it is clear how much consideration has gone into reopening as safely as possible.
“Everyone I spoke to today, from pub and bar staff, to the owner of a local hairdressers, is keen to welcome their customers back, with many having been completely closed since March.
“The owners and employees of these businesses have worked extremely hard to ensure the safety of their customers, but we must all play our part by following the necessary guidelines and using our common sense – this is going to be a team effort.
“So, if you are planning to go to your local pub, favourite restaurant, or for a much-needed haircut, then please be considerate of staff and other customers.”
