Every five years, the Armed Forces Act has to be renewed in Parliament.
Last night I contributed remotely to the debate in the House of Commons, warmly welcoming the incorporation of the Armed Forces Covenant into law. This will mean military families should be treated fairly and with respect wherever they live in the UK - and never be disadvantaged because of their service to our country. I am also pleased to see changes to the Service Justice System, and have asked for more to be done in this area to ensure victims of the most serious crimes always receive a fair investigation and hearing.
