Over the past two days, I’ve been at the UK Defence Academy with cross-party MPs and Peers as part of the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme. We had a fascinating insight into the strategy and day-to-day work of the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force and Strategic Command. Some of the country’s most senior military leaders provided briefings on threats and challenges faced both at home and globally, including from cyber.
It was good to have the opportunity to participate in table top exercises used in the training programmes at the academy, and to learn more about the ways our services protect us and take on our adversaries. A very impressive and reassuring visit, and a reminder of the brilliant work the armed forces do everyday, often unseen, to keep our nation safe
