Family farms remain an incredibly important part of British agriculture. It was very good to visit David and Mark Field to see their crops and sheep, while discussing opportunities post-Brexit, with new policies that reward sound environmental practice.
I was particularly impressed by diversification at the Fields' farm, with a move to energy self-sufficiency. Help from a bounce back loan enabled the purchase of solar panels and Tesla boxes which means surplus renewable energy is fed back into the grid.
