Rob Butler MP observed Aylesbury's Army Cadets training at the headquarter in the town.
Rob said following his visit:
Whether it be through community activities, field craft, military instruction or expeditions, the Army Cadets UK (ACF) offers young people and adult volunteers fantastic opportunities to develop leadership skills and develop character. The Buckinghamshire Army Cadet Force is a brilliant example of this. I was very impressed to see it first-hand last night, watching first aid training, drill, and a team work exercise to see who could build a vehicle to carry an egg safely!
I was really pleased to see young people of all backgrounds, a wide variety of schools, girls and boys, coming together to learn new skills and enjoy themselves. Several told me they had made friends for life. Thanks to @Colonel Holder, Detachment Commander Lieutenant Hodges and Company OC Major Haines. But most of all thanks to the cadets for their time and for telling me about the great benefits of being in the ACF. I strongly encourage anyone 12-18 to join – you certainly don’t need to be planning a career in the army – this is about fun, friendship, action and adventure.
