I was really pleased to reopen the "Helicopter Park" in Wendover today, following my efforts with the Ministry of Defence.
As soon as I was told some months ago that the play equipment had been removed I contacted the minister to insist that local children got their park back.
It was closed due to persistent vandalism, but our combined work with Royal Air Force Halton, Defence Infrastructure Organisation and Wendover Parish Council have brought back this excellent and much-loved local amenity.
The enthusiasm of the children to get back in to the park this afternoon showed just how much it has been missed.
