I was delighted to officially open the newly improved canal towpath route in Aylesbury this morning, which will make it much easier to walk, cycle or wheel from one part of the town to another. The work has been carried out thanks to Government funding from Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and contributions from housing developers. It was good to hear from local people who are already enjoying the wider, resurfaced towpath. This is part of the Aylesbury Garden Town project, which has a strong focus on sustainable and active travel that helps cut traffic congestion, improves air quality and supports growth. I hope even more people will now enjoy walking, cycling and wheeling along the canal in the heart of Aylesbury!
