Excellent action day in Elmhurst to tackle anti-social behaviour and promote community safety in Aylesbury. I had a very useful discussion with Thames Valley Police Aylesbury Vale neighbourhood team, covering knife crime, Nitrous Oxide, and issues with dangerous driving that have been raised with me by residents.
Organised by the Buckinghamshire Safety Team, teams from Buckinghamshire Council were on hand to talk about the role of the Aylesbury Community Board, recycling, successes tackling fly-tipping as well as ways to avoid scams, protect valuables and prevent drinks being spiked.
Volunteers from Carers Bucks highlighted the support provided to carers of all ages in our area, and Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service had a range of useful information to prevent fires in the home.
The highlight for many visitors was the opportunity to meet Thames Valley Police Horses Harper and Luna.
Many congratulations to the organisers of this extremely useful event and the focus on tackling anti-social behaviour.
