Scenes from Gaza continue to haunt our TV screens, as we see ever higher numbers of innocent Palestinians without essential food, medicine and shelter. The UK has allocated almost £60 million in aid since October, including £2 million towards a food convoy that travelled from Jordan just before Christmas.
On our first day of the new year back in the House of Commons, this afternoon I asked the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office Minister Andrew Mitchell MP for reassurance that the aid will get to those who really need it – and that more will be available in future.
