The broadcasting regulator Ofcom have replied to my letter calling on them to stop the BBC axing our local evening TV news. They repeat the point I’ve made before that BBC One continues to be the most used source of regional news in England. So it's disappointing that they won't intervene directly and tell the BBC to think again. But I'm pleased that Ofcom highlight that the BBC must deliver local news to all audiences. I'll be writing to the BBC Director General to ask him to guarantee that, and to explain how a programme from Southampton can properly cover the news in Bucks. BBC South
